Zoltan Paulinyi (born 1977 in the USA), a son of parents of Hungarian origin. Born as Zoltán Paulínyi Körmendy, in 1981 he moved to Belo Horizonte - Brazil), Brazilian composer, modern and baroque violinist, one of the founders of Musicoop String Orchestra (1995). After graduating in Physics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1999), he started to dedicate his life to music, both in performance and teaching. He moved to Brasília in 2000 in order to take up a first violin position〔Macêdo, Clinaura (2006)〕 in the National Symphony Orchestra (OSTNCS), where he started to compose his major works. He has played as soloist since 1987, aged 10, and as spalla in Festival Orchestras of Brasília (1998) and Juiz de Fora (1996). Founder of many chamber groups, including Duo Magyar (1994), Quinteto Amizade (2003), Grupo Sonare (2005) and Grupo SPES (2006). With SPES, he produced a turné in Europe in 2008, premiering his piano trio in Béjar, Madrid, Paris, Budapest and London. Paulinyi produces festivals in Brasília since 2002. Currently he is artistic director for International Early Music Festival in Araripe, and SPES International Contemporary Music Series in Brasília,〔http://spes.Paulinyi.com SPES〕 both for 2009. ==Studies== Zoltan Paulinyi was a pupil of violinist Ricardo Giannetti (for 15 years). He also played in masterclasses of Ruggiero Ricci and Leopold La Fosse, among others, and studied baroque violin with Manfred Kraemer, Michaela Comberti, Luis Otavio Santos. Paulinyi studied composition with Oiliam Lanna (for 5 years), Oscar Edelstein, and participated in short courses with Harry Crowl and Bochman.
